Pride and Perseverance: Psychiatric Technology Class Celebrates Commencement

The energy inside the PC gym was electric as family members, faculty, and staff gathered to cheer on the latest cohort of Psychiatric Technology (Psych Tech) graduates. The ceremony marked the culmination of rigorous academic study, intense clinical training, and unwavering dedication to mental and behavioral healthcare.

The momentous occasion began with a warm welcome from Kim Behrens, Director of the Psych Tech program and Associate Dean of Allied Health Programs. Behrens commended the graduates for their resilience and commitment to a field that requires equal parts technical skill and deep empathy.

Following the opening remarks, President Primavera Monarrez took the stage to deliver an inspiring address, praising the students' determination and highlighting the vital role they will play in bridging gaps in the healthcare system. Attendees were then treated to a powerful keynote speech that challenged the new professionals to always carry their passion for patient advocacy into the field.

The highlight of the afternoon was the traditional pinning ceremony. One by one, graduates walked across the floor to receive the symbolic pin representing the successful completion of their demanding program and the passage of their rigorous examinations. With pins proudly displayed and loved ones cheering from the bleachers, the newly minted Psych Techs step forward into a BIG future, ready to make a profound impact on the lives of their patients.
